In honor of Jimi Hendrix, who headlined the festival in 1969, 3,000 guitar players will attempt to break the World's Record for the Largest Guitar Ensemble playing "Purple Haze" -- all at the same time!

To Regester:

This will all take place at West Fest, in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park on October 25, 2009.

Be there!

We decided to go 2 days before the festival. My girlfriend borrowed her brothers VW bus and off we went from Sarasota...we were 17.They had opened the gates by the time we arrived and it was like the Pied Piper, hundreds of people walking towards the grounds.(we parked a mile away)It already felt magical and we weren't even there yet.We made it to the top of the hill and managed to get food before mass chaos erupted at the booths.Looking out across the acres of people, dancing, singing, smoking, drinking, naked, clothed was so overwhelming I don't even remember who was on stage. As the darkness rolled in,...it started to rain...

I think back on the days that followed, the involuntary invasion of color, sound, delight, frustration, all swirling around me and tickling like a dust devil.... the free stage, the Hog farm, the mud,the helicopters, the sunrise, the mud,the port-a-potties,oh...did I mention the mud?
To all of you wonderful BRAVE souls out there who actually found their 2 square feet of space smack dab in front of the stage and stayed there....my hat is off to you.You WERE Woodstock.I just attended.

Hey Tara. Great to hear from you. How did you find me? Jolie I guess.

How's everything going?

You're Mom was only 16 at the time so I guess it would have been hard to get away. :-) But knowing her back then I bet she could have figured a way.

Peace and love!
